my story
I started piano lessons at four years old—not because I asked, but because my parents signed me up and I went with the flow. With a musician father and a music-loving mom, it was a natural fit. By eleven, I had taken up the flute, and singing has been a constant thread throughout it all. What began as routine quickly grew into passion. Music became a safe space, a teacher of empathy and expression—qualities that have shaped how I connect with others both on and off the stage.
Music gave me the chance to travel and connect across borders. I’ve had the privilege to perform in China, Russia, Estonia, Finland, and England—experiencing cultures through the lens of art and human connection. These opportunities expanded my worldview, deepened my compassion, and reaffirmed my belief in music as a universal language. I eventually earned a degree in music business from Georgia State University, with a musical concentration in piano, and spent nearly a decade working in the industry before another calling found me.
For the past 18 years, I’ve worked in nonprofit animal welfare. It’s been incredibly rewarding—and eye-opening. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned? You can’t help animals without also helping people. Real change happens through collaboration, trust, and compassion. Supporting the humans behind the work—staff, volunteers, and communities—has been a core part of my mission. I believe when you take care of your people, they’ll take care of the cause tenfold.
Music continues to be my creative outlet and source of joy. Whether I’m performing for a packed crowd or rehearsing with my bandmates, it reminds me to stay curious, stay open, and keep doing what I love. Thanks for stopping by—hope to see you at a show sometime soon.
